Gentle, Beautiful & Completely You

Pregnancy is fleeting, but what it means can stay with you forever. A maternity shoot is a chance to pause, breathe and capture the quiet beauty of this chapter before life changes again. At Feathers & Lace Photography, we offer maternity sessions across Cairns that are soft, personal and unrushed. Our approach is simple. We keep things relaxed, using natural light and calm direction to help you feel at ease. Whether it's your first pregnancy or your fourth, we tailor the session to suit your comfort, pace and style.

You can choose to shoot outdoors, at home or wherever you feel most like yourself. Partners and children are always welcome, and we’ll guide you gently without asking you to pose in a way that doesn’t feel natural. The goal is to create images that feel honest, grounded and full of meaning. Call 0439 390 902 to book your session or ask any questions.

What to Expect

A Session Worth Slowing Down For

A maternity shoot is more than a pretty photo of your bump. It’s a way to honour your strength, your anticipation and the love that’s already growing. These sessions are typically booked between 28 and 36 weeks, when your belly is beautifully round but you’re still feeling comfortable enough to move easily. We’ll talk with you beforehand to get a sense of what feels right - soft and serene, playful and candid, or somewhere in between.

You don’t need to worry about having modelling experience or knowing how to stand. We’ll guide you just enough so you feel supported but not overly posed. Most importantly, we want you to feel seen and celebrated, not staged. Whether your shoot is part of a larger story, like a newborn or family bundle, or simply something just for you, it’s a moment worth remembering.
